Get Some Virtual Track Time in the 2017 Honda NSX with “EVO”

The year is 2016, and the Honda (Acura in the U.S.) NSX is finally here. After the second-gen concept was originally shown all the way back in 2007,  it was expected that the return of one of the greatest sports cars ever would happen in 2010. It didn’t. Not even close. Even the engine plans changed, switching from a proposed V10 to a hybrid twin-turbo V6 system.

Some of the first NSX reviews started to trickle in late last year, but some publications are still getting their first hands on the new Honda and Acura machine. EVO recently had the privilege of driving one of the new models at the coveted Thermal Race track near Palm Springs in California.

Henry Catchpole is lucky enough to be following legendary retired racer Dario Franchitti as he gets a feel for the ride. Unfortunately, he only gets a few laps, but he still gets some good info in during the drive. He discusses the aerodynamics of the NSX, the sound, the brake-by-wire, the feel of the electric motors, and how the weight of the car gets along. Check it out:
