Long Beach

Often referred to as the Monaco of the Americas, the Long Beach Grand Prix is a must-visit for race fans of all disciplines.

This weekend we were on site to check out all the racing action, and whether it was the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, or the main circus—Indycar, the action, just like the weather, was hot and quite enjoyable. Starting with celebrities like Mario Andretti, and superstar boxer, Oscar de la Hoya, Long Beach his always packed with celebrities, though the real heroes are the divers piloting these high-power and high-downforce machines, through the narrow and bumpy streets of Long Beach, California.

For the IMSA race, it was the Taylor brothers, Ricky and Jordan, that piloted their 10 Konica Minolta Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP into the lead, despite heavy pressure from the likes of Christian Fittipaldi, and Joao Barbosa in a similar Corvette prototype.

For Indycar, pole-sitter Helio Castroneves couldn’t hold on to the top spot, and saw it being taken away by teammate, Simon Pagenaud, who ran a smart but very risky race in terms of pit strategy.

Enjoy the shots!
