Look Out for Aston Martins Powered by AMG Engines

Aston Martin has announced it will soon be collaborating with AMG in developing the German company’s next generation of V8 engines. In return, Aston Martin will be able to power its next generation of cars with AMG engines.

A business arrangement similar to this exists between AMG and Pagani.

Aston Martin and AMG are in the infancy of negotiations. The deal could be finalized before the end of the year. As a result of this arrangement, AMG could end up taking a five percent share in Aston Martin.

In addition to AMG engines under Aston Martin bonnets, the British carmaker will be afforded access to other Mercedes-Benz technology like electrical and infotainment systems.

Also look out for the return of the straight six to the Aston Martin brand. The Mercedes-Benz V8s we all know and love will be replaced by I6s in 2017. Emissions laws are the reason for this mechanical castration.
