It seems the way for supercar manufacturers to make money these days isn’t in the regular cars themselves, but rather in special editions that tend to be no more than a few design changes. Take for example this new McLaren.

Dubbed, the McLaren 650S LeMans Edition, the new 650S is set to commemorate the brands 20th anniversary of absolutely dominating the most grueling race in the world. The 24hrs of LeMans.

The new car, while underneath completely bone stock, has been thoroughly redesigned in or to look more like the McLaren F1 GTRs that won in 1995.

McLaren even went so far as to bring the original F1 designer back in order to complete the transformation. The redesign includes a roof mounted air duct, slats in the front fenders to increase airflow, new rear and front spoilers, and a set of vintage looking wheels.

All in all, it definitely is more reminiscent of the original design than anything McLaren has been putting out lately. Although, it still doesn’t have the mid mounted seat which made the F1 famous.

And the price for all this nostalgia? Only $372,000.
