When Referring to the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione, the Saying “A Race Car for the Road” Is Actually True!

You may recall the insane Ferrari FXX. Based on the glorious and somewhat analog Enzo (by today’s standards), the FXX took things to a new level courtesy of outrageous aerodynamics and engine technology. The FXX was created specifically for the Corse Clienti, which is the crème de la crème of Ferrari customers. You know, the ones that can drop millions on a car they’ll never really take home.

That’s right. All FXX race cars (except for this one) were held by Ferrari, and transported to race tracks across the world where owners would fly in to turn laps on a given weekend. The storing, maintaining, and race support services were all provided by Ferrari. Perhaps that makes this street-legal version even more impressive, as we didn’t know of any roadworthy FXXs to begin with.

The history is lengthy with this one. For starters, this particular model isn’t just an FXX, it’s an FXX Evoluzione, or commonly referred to as FXX EVO. Ferrari produced 29 customer FXX cars in 2007 and 2008, plus one black model for Michael Schumacher. At a cost of nearly $5 million, customers were also given the choice to spend upwards of another $2 million dollars to further the FXX to Evoluzione spec in 2009. According to the selling dealership, Amari Supercars, this model is the range-topping FXX Evoluzione with a 6.3 liter V12 engine producing 895 horsepower.

If that wasn’t enough, it took a whole lot of money (and convincing Ferrari) to make the street legal adjustments necessary. Thankfully for the lucky buyer, the race-spec parts come in a custom-liveried flight case for future use.

Guess what? The price isn’t listed, but if you have to ask, then you certainly can’t afford it!
