Poll: Which is the Baddest Super Car of them All?

Supercarbattle-ft
Mirror mirror on the wall, please tell us, which is the most desirable super car of them all? Lord knows there is no shortage of options. 2013 is shaping up to the be the year of the hypercar. The 918 has been out for ages, McLaren’s P1 was revealed a few months ago, and both the Ferrari LaFerrari and Lamborghni’s Veneno made their debuts at the Geneva Auto Show this month. These machines are fantastic, fast, and if we’re being honest, absolutely absurd. But which one is the favorite? Lets go over some of the pros and cons.

The Porsche 918 Spyder

Advantages
78 MPG. Let me spell that out for effect: SEVENTY EIGHT MILES PER GALLON!
It’s a bargain at $845,000
More hybrid technology than anyone else.

Disadvantages
It’s a fatty at 3,700 lbs.
Top speed is limited to 200mph.
823 horsepower means it’ll probably get left behind by these guys.

The McLaren P1

Advantages
Insanely aerodynamic with equally insane downforce.
A twin-turbo 727hp V8 with a 176 electric motor (complete with TURBO button!)
239mph top speed with 2G’s of cornering ability.

Disadvantages
No center seating! That was half the reason why the F1 was cool.
Not the fastest car in the world. It isn’t supposed to be, but it would be better if it were.
No V12. I’m sure the turbo V8 is capable… But come on guys. V12s rule.

The Lamborghini Veneno

Advantages
Absolutely insane body styling. It’s like an LMP1 car designed by aliens.
A single clutch manual transmission. Glad to see someone still believes in the old ways.
AWD means that you can still get from 0 – 60 in under 3 seconds with less power.

Disadvantages
Basically, it’s still an Aventador underneath all that crazy.
There are only three of them and they’re all accounted for.
It cost over $4 million. That’s a ridiculous amount, even for the ridiculously rich.

The Ferrari LaFerrari
Ferrari-laferrari-long
Advantages
V12 Hybrid with more power than the McLaren (963 combined horsepower to be exact).
‘Dat Rosso Corsa.
It’s the purest, fastest Ferrari ever built.

Downsides
LaFerrari is the dumbest name ever. They should’ve just called it the Enzo.
It’ll likely weigh more than the McLaren.
It’s kinda ugly from certain angles.

It’s hard to come up with bad things to say about any of these. I mean, these are dream cars for the people who build dream cars. They’re the crown jewels of the auto industry, and each one is a tour de force of awesome. They all get from zero to sixty in less than three seconds. They all use air as tool for increased performance instead of as an adversary. My pick though? The Porsche. Unlimited capacity for performance is great and all, but I am not that good of a driver. The Porsche is fast, but also a full of really cool hybrid technology. It’s also the only one out of this list that you could conceivably drive daily.
