Porsche 356 Racks Up 982,000 Miles

When talking about most cars, the thought of driving one nearly a million miles can incite a phantom pain in the ass. With the Porsche 356, it’s just the opposite.

Guy Newmark has owned his 1964 356C since 1968, but the car has been in his family since new. Newmark’s dad put the first 80,000 miles on the clock. The other 902,000 miles is enshrouded in a love affair rarely witnessed between an owner and his car. You’ll be tickled when you see how much Newmark appreciates his 356.

Commenters on YouTube have applauded this man for never tiring of his Porsche. After three engine rebuilds, and a lobe that fell off the crank at 880,000 miles, Newmark still turns around to admire his car every time he parks it. The dog may be man’s best friend, but you begin to second-guess that axiom when you see this case study of a man and his car.
