Porsche GT1 Strassenversion For Sale on duPont

There are many, many reasons to love racing. But the rule that required GT1 cars to produce a limited number of models for the street is an easy one to forget. Without it, there would be no Porsche GT1 Strassenversion. With only 25 models built, it’s not as thought there’s a glut of them clogging up the highways, but the fact that this car exists at all is an ode to rule book. Without it, there probably wouldn’t even be the Carrera GT to lust over. Or the 918 for that matter.

Unfortunately, GT1 died in 2009. So the value of a detuned, factory built racers like this are only going to go up. The Strassenversion in particular is exorbitantly expensive. Right now the car is listed on duPont at $2,325,000. But that should be expected from an incredibly rare, low mileage, collectors car like this.

If you’re looking for something like this that you could actually, ya know, drive, then the RUF CTR3 might be a reasonable alternative. It doesn’t look as good, but it is both faster and less expensive. Just so you know.

Hit the forums to talk about this insanely rare Porsche!
