The Auto Club Speedway played host to all sorts of rare and fast cars last weekend for the 2015 California Festival of Speed. Our very own 6SpeedOnline community team posted up in the vendor midway to say hello to current and prospective members. And not to be outdone by all of the race cars and show cars, they brought along a limited production, 600 horsepower NISMO GT-R.

This is the same NISMO GT-R that gave me the ride of my life at Willow Springs Raceway last year. While it didn’t make it onto the track this time, it still prompted plenty of double-takes and attracted a never-ending stream of photographers.

Lunch time was the only point in the day when there were no sounds of revving engines as the Porsche Club of America hosted heat after heat of action-packed club racing.

The track wasn’t limited to just full-on race cars. Each day, one session allowed attendees to take their own car onto the track for a decently-paced reconnaissance lap. There weren’t too many people that said no to this opportunity.

The vendor midway is always one of my favorite places to cruise. I’m always interested to see how each booth tries to catch the show-goer’s attention. HRE Wheels catered to the Porsche-lover as their line-up of show cars included a GT, a Gemballa and a 918 Spyder.

The NISMO GT-R also stopped by Falken Tire’s trailer to say hello to spokesmodel Randyl Dawn and the Falken GT3 RSR.

This was definitely a dream weekend for Porsche enthusiasts and speed-lovers. I can’t wait to see which cars come out for next year’s California Festival of Speed.
