The blue-blooded car enthusiasts over at Petrolicious have produced another high quality film, this time venerating the iconic Porsche 964 Turbo. Speaking with 964 Turbo owner, Hans-Michael Gerischer, we learn the tale of this Porsche lifer and the evolution of his car. Initially starting as a standard Turbo, used for the daily commute, this 964 has evolved over time to match the tastes and needs of Gerischer, ultimately becoming a competent track day car that can be comfortably and reliably driven to and from Europe’s race tracks.

This passion for the platform evolved into a small business, Manufaktur 964, which restores and builds these cars exactly as Gerischer sees fit, meaning the feeling of a classic air-cooled Porsche, but the drivability and reliability of a more modern machine, making for the best of both worlds. The example seen in the film has a blend of Porsche RS and bespoke elements, including the wheels and aerodynamic features, and appears to be the ultimate expression of a Porsche RS if Porsche were allowed to push harder and make the ultimate automobile.

Between the sensation of speed with the turbocharged M64 flat-six engine, to the lovely mechanical sounds, whirring away behind the ear of the driver, this is one 911 that will never disappoint, and from the sound of things, will never be replaced.
