This is Not A Bugatti Veyron

Some of these replica super cars are extremely ambitious and well done. They still look kinda awkward, but honestly, this Suzuki Esteem-turned-Veyron is a pretty good looking copy cat. Good in the relative sense, of course. Meaning, I don’t really need to bleach my eyes after looking at this.

The thing about this replica is that it actually looks a lot like the Veyron. Admittedly, it’s a little squashed, but I think it actually looks more cartoonish than anything else. Kinda like those bugatti_veyron_grand-sport2caricatures that people get when they go to theme parks. That’s not inherently a bad thing. If it was a bad caricature it would be. But this is super well put together.

Underneath all that body-kit is a Suzkui Esteem. If you have no idea what a Suzuki Esteem is, don’t worry. Most people don’t. It’s a small car with a tiny engine that Suzuki built for about five years. They only existed in the states for five years, ending their production run in 2001. To say that it was forgettable would be an understatement.

This, however, is notably more impressive. Sure, the performance numbers are abysmal. It’s only got a 1.3 liter gas engine banging away under the hood, so it’s really, really slow. On the one hand, that’s a tragic thing to say about a car that’s supposed to be imitating the fastest car in the world. On the other hand, it’s kind of an ironic statement. Obviously there was no shot at building a fast fake Veyron, so why not go the opposite way?

If that was their plan, I think it worked. Let us know what you think below.
