Thanks for the info Scott. 160+ is no joke for sure but with lighter seats and some other parts, I do see at least another 100lbs off the weight. Any reasons for sticking to the gt30r's? Are you considering the lag or is it that you cant utilize its full potential(higher rpms)? Again great accomplishment for you and protomotive. I cant wait for the next upgrade. Your living my dreams man.

The car will be headed back down to Proto in Sep to get a few upgrades (possibly another 100 rwhp or so). I'm *hoping* I'll return back from Iraq in time to attend next year's Supra meet in Houston in March. If so, my boy Peter and I will be taking both of our cars down there to run with the big boys.

I may take it the dragstrip during that week. If I do, I'll run different tires. We'll see.
Scott
I hope to see you next year!!! The shoot out in Texas is great but we have several others as well for example the Galveston tour, Texas Jam and many others just to name a few... check out houstondrivingperformance.com
Congrats

If I lightened my car to 3,000 lbs (without me in it), it would only take another 100 rwhp or so to hit 160 traps. But 200 rwhp more if I stay the same weight.

I might go with GT3 seats down the road, but that's as much weight loss that I can ever see myself doing.

The GT35's and GT30's are almost indentical except the GT35 has a larger compressor and different A/R. Same housing, though. If I go with a larger compressor in my GT30's I'll see the same results...maybe even better results since the A/R is different. Lag should the same if not better than it is now since I'll be swapping valves out.

Thanks, man.

This seems like you are trying to build a GT35 with .63 AR?

The thing I find really amazing is that I somehow did this with only 610 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel....*according to Jean*.

Obviously torque has nothing to do with it ....

Scott,
it takes 4 hours to take out the carpet. front and rear bumpers with bumperettes no more then an hour. go with one single seat that u have.
It will be a shame if u run a 10.03 liek I did and kept something u could have taken out b4. The cool thing is that u now have some baselines to work with.
to do it right u need to strip 500 lbs. that means light rims and brakes, gt3 seat, no interior nor bumpers-that is the start. Then if u really want to compete u need to take out the A/C( all of it), power steering, no air bags... etc.... you can even run the car without the front dash... LOL
It gets somewhat tricky I have been told becasue of the belts associated with the ac/power steering.
Scott,
you dont need more power... you need to loose weight.. LOL
Good luck,
mark

Hey Scott, I hear you. Wrecking the car to get it there means going down a certain path, which means you won't enjoy the car as a "car" anymore. Doesn't matter, the trap speed tells the story

Great runs Scott. I know you wanted to hit 9.X, but WTF - you have to save something for the future. Congratulations! Great car!

Awesome post Scott :)

Scott,
Thanks for posting... Awesome job... Amazing how much harder the higher power is to drive. You posted a 10.6@136 in your 604/605whp/tq combo, and only another .2 seconds but 12mph better now... It just shows how the entire car needs to evolve to keep up with the engine.

It's just so ironic that I was afraid to deliver the car because it just didn't really "feel" that good...

That was fast! Congrats. I believe it can do much better in the ET. Just wait till the end of the summer and get some proper tires
