930 refers to the 75-89 torsion bar version 3 liter to 3.3 liter cars. The 964 was the new body style that came out as the Carrera 2 and 4. The chassis was all new for the first time, the turbo version is actually know as the 965 turbo, some call it the 964 version, its the same thing. The 964 is actually the Carrera 2 and 4, the 965 only refers to the turbo from 1991 through 1994. The first 965 utilized an improved version of the old 930 3.3 engine first introduced in 1978, the second version used the all new M64 engine that showed up in the 964 Carrera 2 and 4 but with a Turbo. Approx. 3500 turbo were built in the 965 turbo 3.3 from 91-92, and 1587 turbo 3.6 cars for the 1993 to 1994 model year.

965 Turbo has power steering, ABS, 2 airbags and a good htg and A/C system
930 has none of the above (I have owned both).
The 930 (with its horrendously tall and lanky 4-speed) is like driving an old car
(think a lighter weight, muscle car that handles decently)

tough to say as the values continue to climb. i don't think you can get hurt it you buy it around 40K. i sold my 94 3.6 turbo about 3 years ago for $56K with 40K miles. i would have to pay closer to $65 for the same car today.
If it is truly a clean car well maintained and you plan on keeping it for a while I would not worry so much about price. Nice clean cars are increasing in value despite what Excellence Mag says. Fewer and fewer unmolested 964 turbos out there and although the most 91's were imported to the US with 674 and only 298 1992MY cars plus the 20 S2's these are a relatively rare car to find in A1 condition. The 94's do demand more $$ because of their uniqueness last of the RWD turbos and the only RWD turbo with a 3.6 l motor with only 409 non "S" models imported and who knows how many of either the 3.3 and 3.6's were converted to race versions I say if it is sub $50k you are doing fine assuming all checks out.
Although in stock form these cars are quirky especially the suspension is in dire need of updating. It is a unique thrill ride and either 3.3 or 3.6 version are fun. Although the 3.6 stock is considerably quicker especially off the line and at low RPMS.
Good Luck

Otherwise you might have a custom sample paint but there are no unique US 91-92 turbos other than these.
