Wow, that Strosek wing looks awesome. I would love to know where to get one as well. I emailed the folks at strosek.de, will let you all know if I hear back. Mine is to go on a Cab, so it needs to be a little more subtle. I would honestly love to see a wing similar to what is on the 997 TT Cab available for the 996.

great looking Porsche

jojomon11,
That's one fine looking Porsche you have there. I'm not usually a big fan of body kits but what you have got going on looks really sweet, sick, dope. It looks especially fine in silver. The spoiler looks great and overall it looks like a really integrated design, not as though something has been stuck on the car as an afterthought which is how some Porsches end up looking.

I am a fan of the factory aero kit and the spoiler that is part of the package is a valid option for you Steve K., unless it's too "boxy" for you. I'm not changing it, I love it, and I have come to view my spoiler as pretty understated in the realm of monsterously high, in your face spoilers. I prefer the stealth approach. I don't have to advertize anything much because my car has 675HP (at the crank of course).

When it comes to rear spoilers on Porsches my feeling is that these machines are not STIs or Evos--nice cars don't get me wrong. Porsches have nothing to prove. Also--due to an unfortunate bout of seeding tickets I would prefer not to stand out in the crowd too much. I think the "boy racer" look is just unecessary with a Porsche (understood that downforce can become a genuine issue in certain applications).

Whatever you chose I hope you love it, it's hard not to given the car the spoiler is attached to. Jeff

Only problem with the factory Aerokit is weight... that spoiler setup weights a ton!

weight of factory aero spoiler

Frankly I've never been worried about the weight of my factory spoiler. The car is faster than a raped cat as it is so I've never been motivated to look at replacing it. There's the very cool but hyper-expensive CF blade. Then there's all the other after-market alternatives about which a lot of Porsche folk talk quality problems and or problems with fit.

I have an X-50 and the spoiler is large but does not seem especially heavy. I'm happy and have no intention of replacing it. Here's a quote from Suncoast about it "As well as improving the overall aerodynamics of the car, the Turbo Aerokit helps minimize weight thanks to its ultra-light replacement engine cover". jaj

I just replaced my spoler with a Techart Type 1 wing. It's pretty cool.

While replacing, I drove around for a day with NO wing (as in wing removed) and that was a cool look too! Not sure how much downforce you lose, but I'm usually under 100 MPH anyhoo...

Got a quote on the original Strosek wing from strosek.de- impressed with how fast they responded. They quote 895 Euros delivered, so about $1400, but there may be duty and taxes on that. Misha quoted me $900 on his strosek replica. I think it has inspired me to do the Techart bumper and sideskirts as well.

I personally think the spoilers that are already in the up position before the actual spolier is supposed to go up (the button, or 75mph) look silly... and when they raise, they are laughably high

There is nothing to keep anyone from raising the wing to the preferred height, and then unplugging the hydraulic rams. All you need at that point is a GT2 harness pkug to keep the failure light at bay. Th wing will remain in any pre-set height permanently.

I didn't see an answer for this but has anyone experience with this spoiler? Is it like the Strosek and how would the fitment be?
