Im sorry guys...

I finally picked her up from the shop last night..
Inspection and some Hyper-Flow Cats installed (just in case)...

Not 5 minutes into the drive home and it started to absolutely pour..
but hey, it gave me a chance to realize that the top is water tight.

Aside from that, pix were a no go, i dried her off and put her to bed.
The minute the sun comes out, I will post tons of photos. promise.

On a side note... in that 5 minutes before the rain... DAMN!
It sounds like there is a banshee in my engine bay, and she SINGS at 4k+!!!!

Great looking car.

Very, very nice.

Those could be BBS wheels. They are definitely not SAC's!

Awesome car! Now you need to go here:

http://www.ferrari355registry.com/

The owner off that site can also help you with your center console bubbling.

I havent had any trouble with the center console yet.
From what Im told, as long as she doesnt sit in direct sunlight for long periods of time then the console is avoidable.

I just have to get the top serviced before I put her away for the winter.
Putting it down is no problem, putting it up, dif story. I already refilled and bled the hydraulic fluid, but I think I may need a new motor or ram on the passenger side..

To be continued....

Peteyp,

Awesome car man. How would you describe this as being your first Ferrari? A good experience? Anything youd do differently? And what made you pick 6 speed over the F1?

Thanks a lot man - car is a BEAUT!

Wink

Hey Guys...
Sorry its been a while since my last post..

-"How would you describe this as being your first Ferrari? A good experience? Anything youd do differently? And what made you pick 6 speed over the F1?"

Well, I've driven most "3" Series Ferraris, from the 308, 328, 348, 355, through the F430 (only exception being a 360 with an F1 Trans). I've even driven a 612, a few Lambos, Astons and 911s, and the 355 Spider was always my favorite as far as looks and the sound it makes. It's not as fast as some other cars on the road, but the intimate driving experience it provides with the 6spd is something unparralleled from a drivers standpoint in my opinion. I got the 6spd for a few reasons, one being that while I'm sure the F1 is faster, its somewhat "jerky" around town and some suffer from premature clutch wear. Besides, the gated 6spd, to me, makes the entire "Ferrari" experience complete. The "click-clack" through the gates is just Fukn Awesome...

Shes only got 14xxx Miles, and runs like a champ, minus a few niggles that I am in the process of working out over time. She has a few sweeks which is to be expected from a car of this age, but I can fix those. I needed to bleed the hydraulic fluid in the top, which I did on my own, and I spent a few grand on "peace of mind" stuff, along with Hyper-Flo cats. (because I'm just a nit-picker and I liked the way they sound with the Tubi)

Overall, you just have to be prepared to spend some cash on maintenance and random repairs that WILL need to be done over time. Other then that, its the greatest toy any car enthusiast could ever ask for. I'm sure the more modern cars are easier to live with on a day to day basis, but to me, this car is what a Pure Bred Ferrari should feel like.

^^^ Great post Petey ^^^

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have a buddy with a 993 and although not as civil as the 996s and 997s, the 'experience' you get in that car is something that money cant buy.....very cool. Ill def be on the lookout for a nice 355 Spider come Spring time
