My goal is to safely make close to 600 rwhp on 1 bar on pump and 680 at 1.45 on C 16 w/out damaging internals. I know those numbers are a touch high for a stock motor but they are goals. If I get close and run safely I will be happy.
This sounds like an even better set up than k24/18g, why is this not a common option for the 996tt? It appears to be safer and offer more power.

If you want to make the most possible HP out of your car you need to run a EBC and race fuel.....plain and simple. Its a win win situation, you get more power and its safer, why wouldn't you want that?

Does anyone know if there is anything in the works for E85 fuel maps? I have more than a few friends in Colorado/Wyoming that are running E85 and making 600+ AWHP on their DSMs. It is very knock resistant and you can make big power but the downside is that you have to run huge injectors. I have 850cc injectors and I would need something around 1200cc to start with peace of mind for me. I don't want to go over 85-88 max IDC.

E85 is equivalent to about 105-106 octane and its cheaper. E100 is equivalent to about 119. Just a thought.

Even though I am installing a EBC it is agianst my better judgement, one load of bad gas with no knock sensor=motor rebuild.

GT 30's require a lot of expensive (7 extra K or so) modifications.

There's more parts, fabbing, and labor to fit GT30's. You need headers, water lines, custom oil tanks or modify yours, fuel lines, modify oil lines, wastegates, modify intake to turbo, modify your exhaust or build a custom one. All this wil run you about $7k more than doing k24/18g's. Now you know why its not so common.

7K extra...on top of the turbos and 18 G upgrade (almost 4K). And that is not counting labor and fabrication work.

I got the absolute best possible deal at every phase of the operation and this project is looking to run me about 11K total, maybe more if we have tuning issues.

And I have been waiting over 2 months.

GT 30's take commitement.

And I already had the fuel system, intake, triple carbon fiber clutch, IC's etc.

If you want to run GT 30's and have a stock 996TT look to spending at least 30K.
Hopefully she will be worth it...and spanking Paulie will justfy every dime
