I wish I knew myself!

Im doing 1 more BIG change before I let it out.The thing is I dont wanna make it public until the 1st big name carshow here in Texas.I plan on keeping it super under wraps even more than right now.

 

I need to get bank and finish my project.

 

Yeah money is slow coming right now for everyone.I could have finished the s2k with everything i wanted to do to it way sooner but I ended up spending all my $ on getting my nsx.

 

What do you 2000 guys think of the CR edition?

 

Just posting up here for the first time. I drive an MY00 Silverstone. Vortech blower, volk wheels, tein coilovers, etc. etc.

This place will provide a lot of drool time for me I'm sure

 

I personally think its a waste of money.But really it all depends on what your use for the car is.It comes with a spoiler and wing which are both functional but in the eyes of many are pretty dam ugly.It also comes with no soft top but comes with the oem hardtop.Other things which I find pretty useless are "stiffer" springs and different tires.Aside from that the seats are different materials along with matching door panels and shift boot.A lot of times you can actually get a CR for the price of a regular one since no one really wants to fork over $38k for an s2k.Power remains the same on both cars.

essentially you're paying for 3 things:
1) added lightness (no soft top, soft top motor, a/c)
2) better aerodynamics (wing, hard top)
3) slightly upgraded suspension

Honestly I can go buy an AP2, gut the interior + soft top, slap a functional wing on it and be just as fast, if not faster for half the price


edit: and if you thought the regular S2K seats got stolen often, just wait til you try parking a CR on the street

 

I agree with the posts above. Save some money, and go get a regular AP2 . . . the prices are dropping fast, and with the money you save, you can get your own front lip, spoiler, and probably turbo or s/c the thing

Love them all, but the S2000 formula works.

 

I see where they were going with it, but I wouldn't get one.

I'd have more fun buying an older one, ripping its guts out, building to your own spec, etc. rather than buying a track-ready car for a lot more money.



...although, I do want to pick up a hardtop, and almost every CR interior bit except the shift ****.

 

I am not a big fan of the body mods on the CR.

They may be functional - but as mentioned earlier I'd rather get an '02/03 (9000RPM FTW!) and fine tune it for track work.

 

Nice lift! I'm kicking myself for not specing out a 3 car garage when I built this house!


To all the FI S2000s...is everyone running on stock internals? How much boost are you pushing? Upgraded diffs?

 

I'm running stock internals, never had any problems. And I'm running a comptech reinforced rear diff w/ cryo-treated 4.56 gears, works just fine too

 

I think if your going to keep it 100% stock then its a good buy, but if you plan on modding the car at all it's a waste of money.

 

I went to a Honda dealer about 2 months ago and they said the CR's are no longer available.

do they still make them? or do you have to buy them used now?
