Best aftermarket double din stereo/navigation?
The Kenwood has a SD card which is used to load software and map updates. The updates are on the SD card when you purchase it from Garmin.

I have the Pioneer 900BT....its got built in maps, bluetooth and ipod connectivity (extra piece)....the main reasons I picked it was that it has an SD card slot on the outside and it has a Volume ****...
The cons are its a little slow to boot up...

Mine typically boots in about 20 seconds... I start the car, and by the time I've got my seat belt on and am situated in my seat, it's ready to go
Kp, I was looking at this unit as well, did they not fix the boot up issue with a new software update? How long does it take to boot up and once its done and up is fast moving through different screens?
What's up? I've had several double-din units in my vehicles but I'm most satisfied with the Kenwood DNX-7100 that I installed a few years back. As other posts mention the unit incorporates Garmin GPS on a harddrive, Ipod/Iphone interface, bluetooth capability, and the firmware is easily updated via USB hub. The only quirk that I've experienced is that the controls are somewhat counter-intuitive. However, once you become acustomed navigating the unit, it is great. Also noted, the bluetooth and ipod adapters are sold seperately. You can aquire the bluetooth unit for $100-$150 and the Ipod connection for around $20-$30.
