I have an Mitsubishi Evo X with Dual clutch gearbox. Standard power&tq is 280HP&422Nm. Even in stock when I dyno, there is some slip detected in power&torque graph (drop in power&tq around 5000rpm), and I can feel a little slip during driving, also once overheat warning after 1 hour hard driving (lots of WOT) on the freeway.
Later I tuned it (racing cat, reflash, intercooler, K&N) to around 360HP&530Nm, during hard highway driving the overheat comes many times during a month, and the last time it goes to limp mode, CEL appears and shift is very jerky. I have to reset the ECU and change the TC-SST Oil (Twin Clutch - Super Sport Transmission). Then I install oil transmission cooler in front of stock one. I never get any overheat or limp mode since.
Then I tuned it again (fine tuning, changing cams and exhaust, but still standard turbo), around 450HP&620Nm. It goes to limp mode (CEL) again. I plan to install 1 more oil cooler and circulating pump. Before I installed it ,I never use it in highway again, afraid the limp mode comes again. I only use it in town (you can not do a lot WOT in town due to traffic).
I bought the Evo's because it is easily modified, the motor (with garret it can be 1000HP), I think I should bought a manual tranny instead.
Have a CLS55 AMG (800Nm) never has problem, I believe it use the same 5speed auto as Porsche Tip.
Until the turbo's PDK proved to handle heavy modified, I won't buy it.
