I believe the CLS63 AMG to be an all around nicer car. Plus you are considering one that is a year newer then the M5. To me, this is an easy choice. The CLS is more comfortable, more luxurious, and has just as much power.

M5 is old school now, new one is about to come out. Even though M5 might be a better driver's car but as a everyday salon its gearbox is hideous and unbearable. CLS63 on the other hand is more comfortable, better looking, and much better engine for DD driving. Nevermind the fact CLS63 will still run the same time around a track as the M5

ClS63

For an everyday driver, I like the power band in the CLS63 better.

CLS, in this case ....

M5 is going to be out dated soon as soon as the V8 Twin turbo put on a 5 serous, 400hp with 450 lb torque. Also, compaing between SMG and DCT......

what do you think about C63?

is it your daily? cls will have much more torque available for daily driving (comes in at lower rpms).

It really depends on what you're looking for. The CLS is fast, full of torque, but heavy. Its fun to drive if you like slamm'n on the gas, but the car isnt nimble. The M5 on the other hand is fast, high rev-ing, and will out handle the CLS all day... I think you're really gonna have to drive the CLS to make your decision. My mom drives the E55, and my dad a M6... I love going home for the holidays...

Bottomline torque is what you drive with on a day to day basis, unless you are a race car driver and drive around rev'ed to 5000+ rpm's. Based on that you figure it out

CLS only if it was a 55 or 600 or 65. These have much more potential than any 63.

The 63 is a better designed engine and a stronger built engine, that is a blast to drive. Turbo's are fun but they shorten the useable life of any engine.

CLS63 why not?
M5 is nice I love them. I want to own one myself one day. but M5 will blend in with other 5 series
however, the CLS63 is something unique.

The only difference between a CLS63 and a CLS65 is the engine and the 600's are base bodies so you can install any european body kit if you wanted and Engine wise I would think its safe to assume that less than 1% of current model mercedes owners would sell or trade their car long before the engine dies. Think about it you would have to put atleast a 100-150k miles on these cars to even start thinking about the engine going bad. If you don't plan on owning the car that long then you don't have anything to worry about with either car.

The turbo engines were never available in the CLS body style. There is no CLS600 or CLS65.

MB didnt but Brabus did. I would still take the CLS55 over the C63 though and theres plenty of those to be had.
