Thank you... stock RS is 385. The stock cams are actually set up quite well for an 8400rpm redline and the motor set up. With a tune and software you get around 400rwhp though on the same dyno.

Let's look at it another way - weight to power ratio. let's say Alex's RS weigh 3200 lbs:

stock - Kermit makes 3200lbs/385rwhp = 8.31
3.9L & software tune 3200 lbs/458rwhp = 6.98

You will have to lose 513 lbs to be exact in a stock RS to be comparable with Alex's 3.9L RS. OK, I will try to lose 513 lbs. Let me see, how much does the windshield wiper weigh .... lol

Great job Alex and crew. Do you accept cash for clunker?
LOL thanks and the cash4clunker:P It really does go and if you're around etc... swing by and we'll try it out You know your car really well so you should be able to tell...

Not that drag has anything to do with a gt3 and the purpose its meant for, but this will really show the power difference between stock to kermit
It's not a fair fight The new one just doesn't come close:P I really don't want to drag race and launch these cars but I'll figure something out like that then

You're absolutely correct. I've actually drag raced a lot of Porsches back in the day and right now it feels like a decently modded TT for sure. Around the 600hp range if you will... I wouldn't be surprised to see that sort of mph.

Good math and it'll certainly be in the mid 120s based on what I've experienced with drag racing etc....

Danke.. BTW I met your AZ buddy today. Funny he seems a lot like you and gets 2000miles from his tires as well. Hmm what's going on?

OMG .... 73 rwhp gain is amazing and most importantly no penalty as far as gas mileage goes. I feel like my RS has plenty of hp to get me in trouble as is on the track and I can't imagine what an extra 70+ hp will do flying out of a turn. Now I just need to figure out how to do a DIY lol

One question, does this upgrade affect emission - smog legal in California?
Thanks mikymu.... Don't get me wrong we love forced induction but you're right that would be such a step backwards for this car/set up. We absolutely adore the character of this highly-strung and fast-responding motor. All we wanted to do was dial up the things we liked about it in the first place. The revs, check, the light weight components, check... the responsiveness, even better better. It feels like a GT3 motor we all know and love but one that's had a too much of the cream and the clear you know? Let me tell you U-turns are bit trickier or should I say more "fun" now...

If anyone can do a DIY that's you....

We're still running factory cats, headers and intake system. I have to say it says a lot for the factory headers, cats and even the intake that we got what we did with those stock components. That's also a very good sign for smog too. I can't imagine why it wouldn't pass SMOG (haven't done that yet) because due to the light-load drivability tuning that was done we got even better gas mileage on the way home vs stock (25.4mph on the freeway vs 24.8mpg on the way there).

Dude, it's been stuck in the RM Auction in the Ballroom of the Portola Hotel now for 3 whole days. And even worse it's surrounded by red Ferraris! I miss her so much

Izzone I've got both and I'm not kidding, neither is a bad choice or anything but the .2 is considerably slower in any rev range or gear

Thanks PorscheC4, James is quiet but he's also a complete Porsche-loony. Couple that with Todd @ EVO and strange things happen We've been building Turbo motors for years and the blueprints for those are so much easier to deal with. There are parts we strengthen, there are more efficient parts to put in and you need to make sure it all holds together for big power. The NA motor has a lot of character and already contains some very expensive/trick hardware so we really didn't want to loose anything. The RS was my favorite 911 of the modern day and especially that engine so no loss in responsiveness or compromise in that department was a major goal. I really think we hit the back of the onion bag with this build in terms of the lack of compromises (other than the cost obviously) to get the power we wanted. And who doesn't want to have 8800 revs!

Great job! I love how the motor was still super clean when it was pulled out. I wish I could get rebuilds on a whim too
Thanks TunaRollz, yes we are nuts! The only thing missing was a few mini-Shark models in some of those jugs eh? I tried....
