I was not aware for asking data you could be banned Dan must be paying a lot of money on this board for a little me to become a hot topic Best of luck with the product but some data to back it up would be great for us race car drivers, IMO.

I am sure he will come up with some explanation for this. Chris is a good guy but likes to see data. I don't think this was a fair decision, IMO.

Apparently he only wants to see data from vendors other than the one building your car....and his for that matter. He was on the 997 thread from Evolution insinuating they copied another tuners' design for studs, knowing full well they had their studs on the market long before. Now , he is effectively calling Dan a snake oil salesman... Sorry Bro, cant have it both ways.

I'm subscribed to see results, I like what Dan is doing here. Todd/AWE's info also was informative and backed up Dan's claims.

Well.... yes and no.

I realize this is Dan's thread, and I don't want to enter into a Vendor War, but clarification is needed.

First, stock throttle body is 74mm in diameter. The larger throttle body we use is 82mm in diameter.

During our 750R turbo kit development two years ago, we found that the stock throttle body was a major obstacle to unleashing the power of larger turbos, and we then made that part mandatory in our kit.

We also found power when using it with the stock turbos, and it is part of our 650S intermediate power package that we developed last year.

So, yes, a larger t-body does unleash power, even when using the stock turbos and enhanced hardware and software. But I think our t-body is actually larger than what Dan is using.

Here is a dyno sheet showing the gains our 82mm throttle body assembly produces in our 650S package. Purple is the horsepower gains and yellow is the torque gains:

I am not sure what kind of gains are produced by the smaller t-body that Dan is using.

Just wanted to set the record straight.

Measure it with calipers, its not 74mm. Put your measurements up of your TPlenum. Now you have invaded my thread.

Dan,

I am not looking to start a war. Let's keep this civil. Your thread title caught my attention simply because we developed a similar product for the 997TT a couple years ago.

I think the difference between your measurements and our measurements stems from where on the throttle body we are measuring.

The throttle plate diameter is the smallest dimension on the throttle body pass through, so it is that diameter, in our opinion, that should be used for measurement purposes. From the pics you posted on page one of this thread, it looks like you are measuring at the raw casting diameter, which is a few mm wider than the actual plate.

Pics below:

Very nice information, not to hi-jack Dan's thread. But Todd do you sell that piece individually, its very well done. Looks like that with a throttle body upgrade can be a good upgrade when at the right power level.
