This Porsche Ran 9.61s 1/4 Miles?
Agreed!!!
If anything that car was a 10.8-11.0 you can actually clock the run if you good at judging the beams in the video. I'm not!
The only Pcar at the mile that had n2o on it (or had it according to the owner) was RobMD's car. He claims the n2o is off with the new intake system, etc. That would be the only car out there with gas. I was there until they stopped running Saturday and didn't see a Pcar break.
I noticed that to, but with so much drama in the LBC, it's kinda hard being Snoop D O GG.
SW's lifted its head
Tommy Bahn's (Red Twin Turbo/Wet shotted customer car) that recently
did 1600 RWHP without nitrous, also lifted its head. Tommy said it is/was a 3 year old build with the smaller head studs (9/16"?).
All the P-cars I saw there were running when we left on Sunday
Two Supras "blew up" at the mile:

SW(Boost Logic/Tuning Concepts) had a noise in the head that we didn't like. We found this when getting to run for the second time on Saturday morning. We pulled the cam covers, saw nothing, and called it quits so as not to take out a 30k dollar engine(or hurt someone... mainly SW) with a potential failure of a 4 dollar part.
and back on topic....
I was there from Thursday to Sunday and did not see any P cars engines expire. I did see a few cool loss of controls though

Here is the back story.
Back in April I got a call from a guy that owns a custom nitrous shop in Texas. He said he wanted to build a 997TT test car that went 9's. He was fixated on doing this with a full weight car on street tires. He felt that this would have more of an impact then showing up with weight reduction mods and slicks. Can't argue with that.
He researched our turbo kit and decided to use it as the base for his project.
We told Mike that we have never done any Nitrous testing and we could not be responsible for what happened if the motor popped. He understood and said he would not hold anyone accountable but himself.
So we sold him the kit.
Mike then spent some time at the strip dialing things in. He broke some axles and had some clutch issues, but that is about it. The kit we sold him is completely identical to what everyone else is running.
So a few weeks ago he sends me that video. Our jaws dropped.
However, it was bittersweet. See, Mike is endorsing our kit, but since we have never done our own testing, we can't yet endorse his. We never got any of our own data logs to see what exactly the car was doing on the spray.
So while we were blown away by the ET and MPH, we did not really want to advertise it for that very reason. I can tell you that Mike made A LOT of passes and never had a single motor issue.
So there it is. I wish I had some juicy fodder for everyone, but we don't.
An A.W.E. Tuning 750R equipped 997TT went 9.60's on the bottle. Only thing we had to do with it was the turbo kit. Nothing else.
If anyone would like more info on the Nitrous kit, please email me. I will forward you the contact information of the company President.

and watch the clock, and more importantly the outline of the numbers...
First, if you are going for a record breaking run, you better be damn sure you are using a tripod. lol! The whole video is shakey.
Do I think it was doctored? I don't know. I am not going to take a hard line either way.
I have never met this guy, but I have hundreds of emails and spent tons of time on the phone with him.
He personally did not strike me as someone that would fix his drag results. Mike was hell bent on a 9 second pass.
Again, like I said earlier, we supplied the parts for the turbo kit only. I wish we could endorse this, but we have not done any testing.
This is not for us to decide. If anyone has further questions, please email me directly.
