Automobile Protection Film

I introduced this poll on another Porsche enthusiast website but, given some differences in audience composition, I thought that it would be a good idea to introduce it here as well.

Just interested in learning to what extent 6speedonline members use automobile protection film on their Porsches. I use both paint and headlight protection film on my car and I am very satisfied with the appearance and protective qualities of the film.

Participation in the poll and any thoughts on vehicle protection film are appreciated.

Nope, but only track time is individual timing runs; drive about 700 miles/month 7 months/year. So far one very small (2mm) chip.

I had the 3M paint protection film on the hood, front fenders, full front bumper, headlights and foglights and side mirros. I drove the car year round including snow, slush, etc and after 4 years the front of the car is absolutely flawless where the film is. I was so pleased with it I had the same done to my 09 Carrera. This car will be my daily driver when I return the Boxster off lease in 2 weeks.

If you can't stand stone chips, etc to the front of the car then the paint protection film is a good investment.

I've had it on my '00 C4 and now the '02 Turbo and I think it is well worth the money. Lights, bumper, fenders and halfway up the hood. I've had it taken off after three years and had no paint fade mismatch.
