Anyone done 996tt big red brake upgrade on a 986s

wondering what's involved....I've been told it's very complicated but want to better understand the issue.

Several have looked at doing this but no one I know has done it. As I recall it was complicated, expensive at $5k or so, and many felt it may actually make the car slower due to higher unsprung weight. Everyone I know simply uses quality pads and changes brake fluid often. This is good enough for track records (in Boxster class) at most tracks in the west.
