I'm guessing there are perhaps only ~1,000 people on the planet who can afford to buy and operate such a yacht without having to charter it. They're so incredibely expensive that even for someone like Paul Allen, it will take a noticable chunk out of the house hold budget.

A man owning such a yacht once told my dad 'you have no idea how lucky you are that you don't need employees to man your yacht, they'll suck the blood out of a man'

And it's true, if you go and look around your average marina, the people owning 50 ft+ yachts spend most of their time with polishing the damn thing. Where's the fun in that?
