245x45zr16 Ultra High Performance Tires

I purchased 9 x 16 Fuch's for my 87 911 a couple of years ago. I had the car lowered and with the new wheels and tires, it looks great. Now, a couple of years later I find that buying 245x16zr16 Ultra High Performance tires is getting to be almost impossible. Pirelli makes them in the Pilot Sport Cup series, but they look more like track tires than street tires. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions?? Pipes

I assume that you are using 225/50 16 on the front of your car.

Toyo RA-1
They will be available in your sizes January 2010. The are DOT-R, but are very nice on the street with full tread. They are great in the dry and rain.

Continental ContiSportContact
They are a street tire and my fit your needs as well.

I don't like Pirelli tires after having various models on my Porsches and Audi's. In general, they are too noisy, have too short of tire life, and offer less performance for the dollar than their competitors.

I use Toyo RA-1's on my spec 911 and Michelin PS2 on my 93 RSA and 05 A6 4.2.

Thanks for your reply....I'm glad to hear that someone is going to still make a 245x45ZR16 tire. I purchased a set of Fuzion tires in the 245x45 size, the only manufacturer still making that size. I could have purchased a set of Pilot Sport Cup tires that would fit my car, but they were the last to be found in the USA and are no longer made by Perilli. I decided not to buy tires that couldn't be replaced if I had a problem with one of them. My only other option was to buy 17 inch wheels, but I really didn't want to do that either. With the Fuzion tires I have bought some time until I have to make a more expensive decision. Pipes
