What 911 Model can you make money on and have a little fun?
Hey guys/gals-
Newbie just digging into the Porsche market. Have a few q's and looking for any advice. Anyone out there buying a selling a few times a year successfully? i.e. - 6 month period? Was thinking about buying and selling a few times a year for fun. Would be nice to make a little money at it. I may do the auction circuit and/or just find good deals locally. I am in no rush and can wait to find the right deal. If you had $45K cash - what model/year would you focus on? I was thinking the 2002 911 Turbo as I have seen deals in that range with mileage in the 40 to 50K range. Those don't have the IMS issues - right? I realize the issues are rare but would prefer not to worry about it. Anyone flipping cars with that kind of a budget? Any advice around insurance, etc? I don't mind having a high deductible. Any other ideas? I like the look of the later model cars but want to stay away from the IMS issues which go through 2008 - those also seem to be dropping in value vs maintaining or increasing. The later Turbos are out of my price range. Any help is appreciated. Of course, if you have ideas that cost less money - I am all ears.
Thanks-
Tony

2002 Turbo has a different engine than the 996 911 with IMS failures. It is very difficult to make money on them without solid automotive business connections and intimate mechanical Pcar knowledge. Porsche owners are a very dedicated group and will generally know more than the average flipper.

It will be difficult to buy any of these with Low Mileage for the OP price range of 40-50K. However with Very High mileage you can probably buy one of these, but you will not be able to resell it.
Who is going to buy a high mileage GT2/GT3?
