High kms 968 in Canada

Hi All,

I'm from Canada and I'd like to purchase a 968 6-spd coupe in the next couple years as a DE/autocross toy and modify it along the way...... working towards a Turbo S/RS clone type car for the street and occasional track use. Money is always a concern and I'm thinking that a well cared for higher km or mile car would be my better choice. As long as the body is really good and the engine has been well cared for..... I can upgrade or replace other warn parts as needed.

I've found this car which seems to be perfect for my needs.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Right now isn't the best time for me to purchase but comments will help in a possible future purchase.

Additional information based on conversation with the seller: 4 owner car, current seller bought on a whim and wife is forcing sale, 1st and 2nd owner had regular maintenance done and book stamped, 3rd own had car for about 10 years and didn't keep anything at all..... no receipts or anything except for receipts and paperwork for the $6500 he spent before it was sold to current owner.

The no receipts for 10 years of ownership tell me to run away as fast as I can based on everything I've read, but if a PPI checks out with additional time spend inspecting all the usual 968 worry spots, should I feel comfortable purchasing a car with this many kms (169 XXX)??

Thanks for the reply lager99. Havn't asked Miles yet.... I'm on that fine line where I know I shouldn't buy another car... yet I still want one (we've all been there). I'm actually good friends with his sister so maybe I'll talk to him soon.

Finally got your GT2. Would you be interested in meeting up sometime. I'd really love to see it. Havn't had the pleasure of seeing one yet.
