How wide can I go?

What are the largest wheels/tires I can put on (for both front and rear), without having to roll the fenders? Thanks in advance...

The wheels/tires on these clips are so huge.. Can't believe they don't rub...

I've seen an S-4 with 305x25x18s on my friends 1988 GT. Those are on a set of 18x10 TTs. I have 285x30x18s on my 91 S-4. Some folks roll the inside of the fenders, and then of course, the GTS has wider wheel wells. Several venders also sell "Flare fender kits". How wide do you want to go

Feroz,

I was hoping to at least go big as 315/25/19 on a 91 GT without having to roll the fenders.

Yours is pretty wide. Did you roll your fenders?

Thanks,

Jones

I have the BBS "Sport Designs" that are 18x10 in the rear. It has a 65mm offset. The tires are 285x30x18 (Bridgestone SO-2s), and they do rub slightly on the inside Not enough to make me want to reduce the size. My fenders are stock, I did not roll them. Good luck with yours. How about posting some pictures of your GT.

Feroz,

I do not own one. I am getting to ready to replace my daily driver (X3). I've narrowed it down to an A5 and a 928. The pragmatic side of me is telling me to go with a new and reliable car. I do not know much about the 928's (besides that I've always wanted one since childhood). So, before I give into the pragmatic side, I really want to find out as much about the 928's. as possible. Unfortunately, there isn't much traffic in this forum.

Finding a decent 90+ year, manual, with ok miles is much more difficult than I anticipated. However, I found a couple of 91 GT's and couple of GTS's worth considering.

Wish me luck...

I would suggest that you go to rennlist, and they have one of the more active 928 boards. I am passionate about the 928, but I also know that it is not for everyone. Unlike what most people say, they are not any more difficult or expensive than any other car that is properly maintained. It helps if you have some mechanical talent. Go to www.rennlist.com, and go to the 928 board and I think you can have all your questions answered. Good luck, and if you need anything, I be happy to help you with the answer or refer you
