Good memories. Owned about 6 or 7 930 cars and they were all great. That body style is my favorite and your car is stunning. I put 345's on my 86 and it really gives the car a hot look. Enjoy it in good health!!!

Progress pics from the detail

These are great shots of the drivers side rear fender, the paint was cut to remove defects, then polished, then refined. The goal was to remove 25 years worth of damage and bring this car all the way back.... and then some

Entire cars pics to follow...

Jon,

what do you mean the "paint was cut"? I'd love to hear about your process if you are willing to share it. That swirl reduction is impressive!

We have a write up on a detailing forum, here are a few excerpts on the process:

Quote:
1. 3M Extra Cut PI-3000 was applied for 2 to 3 passes using a Lake Country Purple Wool Pad on a Makita. It left the finish "worse" looking

2. After ensuring the all defects where removed, Menzerna SIP was used on an Orange Lake Country Pad (7.5 inch CCS) to clean up the wool marring.

3. Then the paint was cleaned up further with 106ff on a Meguiars' So1o finishing pad.
There was quite a bit of experimenting to find the right combo for this finish - but every car is different.

Thanks, but I can't take all the credit on the detail. This is what I do for a living and my business partner and both a lot of time into the car to get it where it is now.

Oh how I miss my 86,930. I had a beautiful silver/red 930. I wasn't crazy about the red but the car was in outstanding condition. However, I got a case of the stupids and sold her. That was the only car I've ever owned that I actually made money on lol. I still would have rather kept it but now I've got my 02 996tt. It still doesn't look like my old 930 though.
Your car is beautiful, don't sell her.
