Looking at 1988 Turbo S Need Info
I am looking at a low mileage about 55,000 miles1988 PorscheTurbo S. It was modified sometime in 1999. It has the following upgrades madeby the current owner
· K27 with the following Id numbers on the nameplate
o K27
o 95 202 1114
o 5327 970 7006
o BHP 300
· Autothority Mass Flow Sensor Part #NWS 02 951100
· Autothority chip (no info on this)
· Owner not sure if the wastegate has been changed
· Stock exhaust system
· Sachs “Cup” Clutch installed at the same time
· Suspension is stock which I believe is the M030with the Turbo S>
Since the upgrades the owner had driven it only about 20,000miles. Car is pretty clean. The car when I drove it seems to spool up slow.Didn’t notice what bar was reached. Not too familiar with driving a turbo car.
I plan on using the car for autocrossing and possibly dosome DE events.
Could anyone give insight to the turbo mods on this car andhow good or bad they would be for autocrossing. I am familiar with the pros andcons of autocrossing a turbo through reading other forums. Don’t care to getinto that discussion. The owner has the stock turbo and mass flow sensor.
From what I have reading would It better to rework the stockturbo so it spools up quicker? How should it be modified? What about the massflow sensor, chip, and wastegate?
I’d like to thank everyone ahead of time for whateverinformation you can help me with.

I've had a few 944 models. If you're still looking check the chassis now with Porsche to check it is a turbo S. From memory the s model was only available from Sept 88 in UK not sure about the US. If it is an S it will have yellow koni adjustable shocks which had the M030 designation. Just look under the car and check if they're yellow.
All 944 turbos are laggy by modern standards including the stock car and theres not much you can do about due to where the turbo is situated. Good info on the car here http://944turbo.net/?page_id=54
