SHHHH PT!

Havent worked on the car nearly at all in 2 months or more, been busy. New wheels for the new widebody though.

18x12 GT2 rears
18x11 996TT rears (for the front).

I'll need a 12mm spacer on the GT2's to get them to fill out properly, but should hold me off till I order some CCW's or BBS Motorsport's.

Doors, fenders and hatch are off the car. Waiting on widebody fenders, 1/4's, and fiberglass doors... among other things.

I'll never use parts from broadfoot on my car, bunch of scammers. Besides, my build is way better minus the CCW wheels. Using full flares, not that crap.

Work has recommenced. After months of not working on the car I've finally got back to it. Ordered the 1981 Porsche 944 GTP Widebody flares for the rear (same ones they ran at LeMans in '81) and started working on the new turbo engine. I'm doing a 2.5L 16v right now with all the proper bolt ons I had planned, and then either a 2.6L or more than likely a 3.1L 4 banger next season. Anyway, hoping to have the engine put together in the next month or so, so the manifold can start being put together.

My $250 backwood Kentucky 944S engine.

Please excuse the quality (or lack thereof) of the photos, didnt have my DSLR with me.

As you can see you'd need to push out the 1/4 panel a good 1/2" or more (upto 1" in some places) at the very top to "cover" the tire. Technically I think you could do a 315 under "stock" bodywork (ground away inner lip on inner fender well, and on 1/4 panel) with a bit of rolling done to the actual 1/4 panel to get it to bow out.

Inner clearance

As it is, I'll be pushing everything out with a small spacer so it'll nicely fill my widebody until I can purchase BBS Motorsport wheels. More pics in the next week of bodywork, engine stuff, and the car being back on all 4 wheels.

Widebody stuff mocked up, have to do some serious cutting to mount the rear stuff on, should be working on that and finishing the wiring up over the next few days. Engine plans are progressing and will hopefully be ready to go in the car for manifold mockup in a few weeks.

Did all the cutting, drilling and measuring (not in that order!) and got the fronts mounted up in a couple hours.

Moment of truth!

I was literally standing there saying "This is either the stupidest or craziest thing I've ever done to my car."

Rear (just driver's side) mocked up. Finally got to figure out what I'm going to do for rear wheels, which will be 18x12 ET 0  The front fenders were specifically mounted a touch wide to allow venting through the rear of them for both hot air from the brakes and the radiators which will be venting to the wheel wells.

All the bodywork is from GT Racing except the nose panel which is a Lindsey Racing piece and the 968 TRS wing which is a factory Porsche Motorsports piece.
