If you are doing regular DE events or race the car, then the 2/3 piece crossmember upgrade is a great way to go, and is significantly shortens the time it takes to change rod bearings. If you don't track the car, then you go in to change rod bearings, and you probably won't ever need to go back in there again, so in that case, then no point of really upgrading the crossmember. I change rod bearings every 2-3 years depending on how many events and how hard the car has been run in that period of time. On a turbo car, then you really need to do the 2/3 piece exhaust crossover pipe also, as that has to come off to get the pan off as well.
