Thinking about doing something CRAZY....opinions PLEASE!!!!

Hello gang!!! I am the proud owner of a 2006 C2S Cabrio. Love the car. Bought it about 7 months ago, had 24k miles on it, and was (and still is) in EXCELLENT condition. I recently saw a 964 Turbo with over 100K miles for sale. Looks FANTASTIC. Seriously considering trading my C2 S Cab for the 964 Turbo. The car is simply gorgeous, and is VERY appealing to me.....more like my DREAM car. The lines, the look, wide body, stance, everything just sparks my desire in a HUGE way. It would be my daily driver. I cannot have both cars. The 964 turbo is very comparably priced to what my car is currently worth.
Main question is, is a car such as this with over 100k miles on it ok to have as a daily driver? Will it be a probable money pit with regards to maintainance, upkeep, etc??? Would the trade, should it happen, be a really DUMB move? lol!!!
Has anyone here ever been in a similar situation and if so, please share your experiences!!

Thank you!!!

Abdon

To be honest yes, stick with what you have.. If it was not a DD then I would at least have a PPI done. But you have a low mile c2s that is better suited to DD. Granted I love the turbo just would not drive one every day(even though I would want to). Just wait until you can have both or at least a DD with the turbo

If you are comfortable with doing your own maintenance, I'd say go for it. Another option to consider is picking up a cheap car to use as your daily driver and drive the 964 occasionally. If neither of those situations are possible for you, keep the C2S.

Go test drive the 964t. The 997 is a newer more refined car but the 964 is a LOT of fun, you just need to be sure you can live with it if you need it as a DD.
My friend has a 997GT3 and I have a 964 with 993tt engine and lots of mods.

This thread is of interest to me too. What are the typical running costs on a 964 Turbo 3.6? There is a 40k mile example not too far away from where I live that I have an eye on. For someone who has as DD an '87 Carrera, would having this car as a DD be an issue. I would care not about depreciation by piling on miles at all as I would keep this car for many years.

Nope. Someone else ended up with it....but it's for the best I think. I'm keeping my 997, and saving up for another Porsche (964 or 930) in the next 24 months or so.
