Spoiler stopped working

it's oddly comforting to hear that 991t's also have spoiler issues. funny really, but only in a shared misery kind of way lol

"Isn't it supposed to activate at higher speeds like ~ 75mph? Guess I'll have to get "active" & read the manual since it's not working like the 997's did. "
If there is any other simple question that is too difficult for you, I can try to explain it more simply just for you.

Yes, I think it is for the best, as you cant obvisously read. The picture answers the following question:
"Isn't it supposed to activate at higher speeds like ~ 75mph? Guess I'll have to get "active" & read the manual since it's not working like the 997's did. "

i'll continue, since you've asked i marvelled at the notion that the OP didn't realize what ( i would've thought? ) were some very obvious features of the spoiler operation of his new turbo. i was struck by what i first thought were the similarities between the two iterations that both involve moving spoilers, before i then realized you guys had even yet ANOTHER button to push ( sport mode ) that might even be considered a "manual activation" which would be no different from the 96 turbo's dash button for spoiler operation, although no one ever needs to use it for normal deployment to occur. nor does it appear from your screen capture of the manual, that 991t's are different in that regard. or that's the way i read it. proving only that owners of this newer iteration are not necessarily any brighter than owners of previous versions of the car.
though upon re-reading it, and given ALL 996/7/991 turbos have spoilers that activate at speed, there is no NEED to push the button so i was surprised that one might even need to read the manual to make that determination. but yes, please, explain again to me why i shouldn't find it amusing. sport
the op also said that he "prayed" to get it to loosen" and it seemed to work!. to which in replied "ya can't knock divine intervention"!
so ( hopefully ) in closing? is it too late in our exchange to inform you i am here for MY amusement, and mine alone? if you share in it then so be it. if not, don't bother to reply. but you? by all means, please stay in "sport mode"

there really isn't anything to explain, though i readily admit your attempt, and it is duly noted

Agreed. I find the continuing spoiler issues with these cars the most amusing aspect of all. It should be unacceptable but we live with the oddity of their inconsistent operability with great pleasure nonetheless.
Enjoy your weekend.

My PTT or 997TT have had spoiler malfunctions only when frozen, I am just broswsing around here whether or not to pull the trigger on a 991TT, as the first year Panny had about 13 recalls, now the car is reliable, but it was annoying to take it to the workshop every month 1-2 times, so hope this is not the case with the 991 TT. This spoiler issue is the kind I dont want, because these small workshops dont know how to fix them and they are hard to reproduce.

Update
Picked up the car after a week in the dealership. They stated they updated the software and the spoiler was working fine. Drove off from the dealership, 15 minutes later, "SPOILER LOSS, ADJUST SPEED". I called them and demanded they just order an entire new spoiler unit and call me when they receive it.
Other notes: the car was dirtier when I picked it up than when I dropped it off.
Typo on my earlier post- should have been "pried" not prayed. I guess I might have to start praying now and hope I don't have the same experience that Rob did/is having with his spoiler.

some advice? when dealing with the dealership? never be afraid to mention you will involve a PCNA rep should they not be able to address your issue(s) in a timely and satisfactory manner. pcna has been known to light small fires at dealers that don't promptly remedy issues such as yours with 150+k cars.
you were right to demand a replacement if it isn't fixed/replaced this time? i'd have them call pcna right then and there. good luck and thanks for being a good sport re my "comments". i knew you *pried*, by the way. seriously, good luck with it.
spoiler issues are among the most annoying, i have found.

i know there was very little ( if any ) difference between the 996 and 997t's spoiler in terms of functionality/design. while the 991 has front ( obviously ) as well as a blade that arcs, and the others did not. i would hope for the sake of the new owners that the entire design would have been re-designed by porsche.

PNA is an absolute joke. They provide ZERO support. Matter of fact they might have even created the bottle neck and declined the approval for the front assembly to Germany. In my issue, we have a valve that became the core problem with my 991tts. When the part was listed as "unavailable" or "backordered", the car sat and sat. Then the dealer tried to order the front assembly as it "showed" in their ordering bank as "available". A month goes by and no word from Germany or PNA. The dealer told me this was all too common with Porsche's communication between Germany and NA. Sometimes it takes weeks for them to translate the request from english to german and back to english;lol. And my suspicion was that someone with Porsche kicked the entire assembly order back because the "correct" part was in the request bank. LOL
My dealer stepped up and robbed the part off another tts and my car is home finally.
So what have I learned from my experiences with Porsche on my 991tts and 991gt3 ?
No 918. I enjoyed my test drive at the track (three weeks ago) and the option to order one. When asked If I wanted one, I asked if I had to buy two so one would run ?
No Cayenne S Hybrid. Purchasing 15 BMW X5 for Colorado winters. Cant imagine what grief Macan owners will deal with on recalls and warranty work when Germany chooses when they should supply parts. Its 100% illegal to allow Porsche not to fix a vehicle under warranty within 30 or 60 days pending state regs. My state is 30 (I waited 60 before inquiring) and my counsel is willing to help any owners with this issue.
So to further clarify, PNA is useless with these type of issues. Germany is the core problem.
