Dodson Motorsport PDK Upgrade going on
Well,
we found the limits of the PDK clutches the other weekend at Famaso. So last week I discused my options and goals with Sam and we came up with a game plan the Dodson Motorsport PDK upgrade. Sam called Dodson on Tuesday late afternoon and by Friday I had the Clutch removal tool and shipping box that Dodson provided. The PDK is out of my car the clutch removed and will be shipped back to Dodson today, they will turn it around in 1 week and allowing 6 days for shipping there and back I should have it back in my car in 2.5 weeks. just in time for a couple events that I am going to.
The transmission would probably live just fine if I didnt put the M/T on and launch the way I do a 1.43 60ft was to much to ask with all the torque my motors is putting out, but thats ok I wanted to find out now and not in the middle of a 200+ MPH run at Mojave. Thanks Again Sam

You are very welcome. Proud that we will be doing the first one on your car and the support from Dodson has been top notch. They're really excited to get on board this Funtime 991 bandwagon with us after so much development and contribution from the entire community. I think we both agree if not now soon it would be necessary so what the hell. Let's cut deeper into the nines! Thanks for always being willing to work with my suggestions and input. We will get this thing going as fast as possible for you as I have several applications a month ready to go.

Congrats Mark on the upcoming upgrade!!!
Once it is back in your car let us know how the driveability and smoothness is. Does Dodson know what the new torque limits will be with the upgrade?
Any plans for a supplemental fueling upgrade?
Thanks for spending time and money to help move these new upgrades forward for the rest of us.
Before we know it you will be at 9.5 or lower.

We are looking at 1,000 whp and could be more. When I get the clutch pack and installed I will report back on how it shifts and operates. We're gonna get a whole bunch of data in the next 2 months

Really looking forward to hearing your report of how the car performs and operates with the tougher PDK parts in.

Holy crap my friend that is amazing. I guess to reach that power level (1000 WHP) besides the PDK upgrade you'll have to do something with the fueling right? Thanks for being one of the pioneers of these next wave of mods.

First of all, kudos to you for being the first to document and publish the results of this.
I had read previously that the PDK case need to be cut open and rewelded shut. Is this still the case, or were they referring to the case of the clutches?

Yes I was under the same impression I thought it was the trans case itself, nope it's just the clutch basket that is sealed ( the last picture ) . appaerntly the PDK only has 1 clutch basket where as the old transmissions I have torn apart had a basket for each gear.
