I dig this thread. The creativity is seemingly endless.

For the first time tho, mod is not up my alley (but hey, this isn't my alley). The crest is too large somehow, but that is of course entirely subjective.

The track pics are absolutely great. The Tequila Patron one looks straight out of ALMS.

Wow - looks like an awesome day at the track! Having never run a BMW club event, which one is the D group? Do they start you in A and work your way up? A lot of other organizations use colors instead of letters.

The GTI is a blast to drive as a DD... so much fun...I will do the APR Stage 1 or 2 once i rack up a few more miles.

Thanks! Yes the day at the track was awesome and I have 2 more track week ends scheduled in April and May at Barber Motorsport park (one with BMW again, the other one with Rezoom).
The BMW D group is in fact the 'novice' group. From there, you work your way up to the A group. I do not have a lot of track experience and my goal is to get to a point where I can use the car to its full potential. Still way to go As much as I like to do performance upgrades to my cars, I recognize that the driver is the #1 part to improve

 

Thanks. My GTI build is a bit on the back burner for now and I am using the 991 as a DD. I still use the GTI occasionally and share it with my wife, my eldest son and relatives from overseas visiting us (good thing you have program switching with APR).
Stage 2 is already plenty of power and torque and I am not sure Stage 3 would make a lot of sense. With an improved suspension -and brakes- I already feel that the car is a bit overwhelmed by the tuned engine.
Maybe I will eventually strip down the GTI of all the trim and comfort equipment and continue to upgrade the underpinnings to turn it into a purely track car, but the 991 is so much fun that I am not sure that a souped up GTI would be better.

 

While I love my Platinum Silver, my next car will be white.

 

Some 4-5 years ago, I asked myself about who was crazy enough to buy a white car and I was typically going for Black, Dark grey's or Silver. Here I am, having bought 3 white cars this year (not counting the Cayman R I traded in). Black wheels on one of them only... for now.

 

Any word on the Speedart spoiler delivery date? Very curious to see it "in person" and hear more about it. I find the Speedart pics not the clearest view of it.
