Plasti-dipped my emblems this evening. Some pics...

Plasti-dipped my emblems this evening. Some pics...

I felt pretty motivated after work this evening and decided I would plast-dip my emblems and take a couple of photos documenting the whole process for those who also wanted to do the same:

First tape off the letters and numbers but leave some space around each. This is important to peel the plasti-dip off.




Then apply four coats over everything. It's okay to let some silver show on the first coat. You will have three more coats. Allow to dry about 10-15 between spraying.





And finally peel away the overspray. Use a toothpick to get the inside of the letters and numbers like P and 9. And this is what you're left with!




The whole process takes about an hour but well worth it. Especially with the theme that I'm going for with the constrasting black wheels and tinted windows:

I had mine painted tone on tone (agate grey). I like something different than the chrome...here is a pic of mine...

Definitely...especially with all black accents on door mirrors between exhaust etc. go for it and post pics soon

Home Depot and Lowes sells them, only in black though.
