It would actually be called a boot. There is no trunk in a 911...

Boot is storage space (could be front or rear, I believe) and bonnet is the hinged cover. So, "frunk" it is, for me anyways.

Consider installing a Das Schild if you are going to use the front trunk "frunk" as you call it. The lid is easily damaged and Das Schild is about 200 bucks. It only takes a few minutes to install it.

Yes. I saw the thread on Das Schild, but that was after I was already back from my Euro delivery trip. I can see the $200 being worth it if one uses the "frunk" a lot even if not frequently fully packed. But, I hardly open it to put anything there. That said, if I Das Schild was available a year ago (or if it was already, I didn't know about it), I would have bought it and had it sent to Germany for Euro delivery.

In "British" speak the bonnet covers the engine, the boot covers a storage compartment.
