What you guys think about clear tail lights?

look for an older thread, not sure what the topic name was, but the member did put on newer 997.2 I think there was just a little gap but the lights look good

^ This.
I think they look awful on on dark colored cars, a little less awful on white/silver.
Having said that, it doesn't matter that I don't like them. Only matters if you like them. you may not like my wheels, tint, radar install, etc. but I do.
Exactly the reason why Porsche makes so many options. We all have different opinions and likes and we will can modify as we see fit.

Bumperplugs.com sells body-colored reflectors, but they're a bit steep. You can get a shop to paint them or even wrap them for a tenth of the price. http://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php...product_id=136

Pic again. Red reflectors painted to match GT Silver by my body shop.
Along with OEM clear taillights painted (multiple coats) with a tinted clear coat.

BTW, this is my 911th post . . . ha!

Wow that's the nicest yet! When you hit the brakes it must look like that 3rd brake light is coming from the bodywork!

Sweet!
And yeah, that's the best way to go. A local shop actually quoted me $20 installed for white wrap that will match the car's paint as close as possible.
Sure beats $240.

I'm not a fan of clear rear lights. The red looks better with my black car.
In the old days(70's), the only Porsches with clear rear lenses were the euro models and some guys would switch out the red to clear to have that "euro" look. Same thing with the side lights. Bottom line, to each his own. I guess it depends heavily on your car's body color which looks best.
