Upgraded to a Turbo

Upgraded to a Turbo
Hi all - in honor of my 40th birthday back in September, I decided to take advantage of the PFS 12-month pull-ahead program and I placed an order for a 991 Turbo. Specs are as follows: Agate Grey, Leather Interior in Black/ Garnet Red, Sport Chrono, Sunroof in Glass, LED Headlights, Premium Package Plus, 18-way seats, Power Folding Mirrors, Smokers Package, Porsche Crest on Headrests, and Colored Wheel Center Caps. I picked up my new car from the dealer yesterday. Although it was sad saying goodbye to my 2013 C2S 7MT (and a bit melancholy because I'm leaving the manual fold), I was ecstatic to welcome the new Turbo into my stable. Quick reactions after just a few drives . . . all I can say is wow. The PDK is telepathic. The car has incredible, otherworldly, thrust. It is just insanely quick. The 18-way seats are great; so much more supportive than the 14-way seats. The LED headlights are night and day better than the bi-xenons. For those on the fence, get them. The sound is pretty good for a forced induction engine, but candidly, coming from a C2S with PSE, it's not the same. The leather interior (especially in the two-tone variant) is stunning. It's such a major upgrade over the standard interior I had in my C2S. Some iPhone pics I took at the dealer are attached. More to come.

Pretty sure that here in the good ol USA the DOT limits the brightness of the LEDs to be the same as the xenons. In Europe the LED are indeed about twice as bright but not here in the states. I also drove a turbo and while the thrust and push you back in the seats is definitely an upgrade over my 4s I think I would get board with this car quickly. I have the AWE exhaust so Im use to a pretty loud cup car sound and the turbo seemed to make no noise at all. Don't get me wrong it is a great car and yours looks very nice but I think if I upgrade mine Ill go with the GT3. Did you consider the GT3 at all? I know they aren't the easiest thing to get right now.

Beautiful car!
BTW - Can you do the pull-ahead program on a not yet built GT3 or turbo? Does the program need to be in place when you take delivery? Any idea when the pull-ahead will program will end?

Thanks for the good wishes guys! I didn't consider the GT3 as my car is a DD and it's wacky enough to be driving a Turbo into the city from Long Island (or any Carrera for that matter), let alone a GT3. Also, I really need the rear seats because my girls love going for rides in the car and I need the flexibility to run carpool/ errands with them. Regarding the LEDs, I can just say that from behind the wheel, they light up the road much better than the bi-xenons. Not an expert in light output or anything, but just my sense. Regarding the pull-ahead program, it has to be in effect when you take delivery (or at least when the dealer punches the car). The 12 month pull-ahead on 2013 Carreras has been in effect since July 1st and is scheduled to run through January 2nd. It may be extended into the new year, but I don't think anyone will have guidance on that until the new programs are announced after New Years. I actually did the pull-ahead on a not built Turbo. I built mine to spec, ordered it in August and gambled that they'd extend the pull-ahead to the 4th quarter. It all worked out, thankfully.

EG991- Congrats I took advantage of the PFS pull ahead too with 5 months to go on my lease and pulled the trigger for my upcoming 35th birthday. The NA motor definitely sounds better but once in boost you will not miss your C2S. I do wish I got the LED lights but it was not a deal breaker. I agree on the GT3 and much like Pert said I do not want to be the guy driving a GT3 as a DD and not using it on a track regularly. I attend a few DE events but would not be using this as a track car. The Turbo has more creature comforts and is faster as well.
Once you get through break in enjoy the launch control it is amazing. I love the Agate.
