About that USB in the glove compartment- does it ever turn off?
my bluetooth connection to aux is spotty, sometimes it connects, and sometimes it doesnt. Although my bluetooth to phone call connects everytime.
I'm going to try to put this guy into the Porsche.
so, im going to have that 3rd party device sitting inside the glove compartment all the time, it is powered via USB.
So, when I get in my car, I'll have my phone set to connect the phone calls to the car, and the audio to the device.
If I leave that in the glove compartment though, will it drain the power? for how long will the USB plug remain powered up ?

The music quality is always higher with a direct connection anyway correct? I always plug my phone in directly to the glove port anyway. You can still have the cord stick out with the glove box closed and the phone sitting on the seat or a holder if you have/get one.

If the s/w is working correctly, the port turns off when the car times out its various pieces. This will happen if the car is off (engine unengaged yet key turned one notch) or if the car is completely off (engine unengaged and key in full off position). The timeout for the former should be longer than the former. In both cases it is to prevent you from running down your car battery. When the s/w does not operate correctly (e.g., 997.2) the connected device's battery may be drained.
