Oh, where to rest my cell phone?

"A patented sticky suction cup will secure iMagnet to your textured dashboard or windshield for months without falling off."
Great!!...... than means 6x a year it falls off into your cockpit and you potentially lose control of the car as you try to catch it

To each his own.
I like the iMagnet mount. I fastened mine to the glove compartment door that is leather. So far it has held fine. A very elegant and low cost solution for me. I expect that it will be OK and if it does fail, I will not be fumbling for my iPhone while driving. Also, it will not mar the leather on the center console as other devices might and it can be removed very easily. I would never mount anything on the windshield except the EZPass transponder, and that is out of the line of sight in front of the rear view mirror.

Im using the vent mounted magnetic holder
I scotch taped the magnets inside my phone case so they are removable and hidden when looking at the phone. This spot works great for Waze and streaming music too. I don't have power hooked up but I imagine it would be pretty easy to snake something up there. For me the proclip is too large and noticeable plus not an ideal location next to shifter

It's barely noticeable without a phone in it. I have it in the vent to the left of the ignition and it fits well (iPhone 6) between the door and key. proclip, kuda etc are cheap plastic which only make a distinguished cab look like a soccer moms dodge mini van. not to mention there is nothing visible on any phone worth taking your eyes off driving a $150,000 car IMO.
pocket, console, glove box, door pocket all work fine

Well, if you are using a Max2 with Escort Live you have a reason to keep the phone visible. Same for WAZE. I'm going with Proclip - a "right hand side of the console" model that takes a Lightning cable. I'll "hardwire" it into the glove box for a clean look and connect to a lighter socket adapter (my USB is connected to an iTouch w/Apple lossless content). Between this mount and a Blendmount radar detector mount w/hardwire to the fusebox I'll have all the "necessary toys" installed in a neat, clean, useful, and accessible fashion.

trysixty - oh, I did shop that option and I respect Benchmark's expertise (which is why I'm having them do the work). I happen to like the "crowdwarning" aspect of the Max and Escort live. Back to the topic. By the time I got done with a "basic" built in installation I'd be at about 2,500. Add a mirror display and laser jammers and you're up to $5K and I'd have a "not the best" laser jammer.
My total all in with this choice is $1K. Frankly, without a mirror display set up I've not been too interested in built-ins with smaller "screens" and display placement that forced be to look more away from the road.
So I'm getting a Benchmark quality install with a device that I chose on the basis of value to me. A Blendmount takes away the "circle of doom" tatoo on the windshield when viewing from the outside and the mounting is so close to the mirror it blends in and becomes almost invisible. That being said, it's good to get another vote of confidence for the Benchmark folks!

My interior is black. I use this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271656866562?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Less than $5. Fit perfectly with center console and my iphone.

I modified a Mountek magnetic mount and fastened it to the change box in the center console with double stick tape. It's attached to plastic, so the tape can be removed and any residual cleaned off. Easy to place and remove, and easy to view if you need to.

Since you have an iPhone get an Apple Watch and you can leave your phone in your pocket. The Watch will allow you to see all incoming text's and emails as well as answering the phone. What more could you ask for. Problem solved!

Belkin has a vent clip that matches the chrome trim on the 991 vent so well that it looks like a Porsche part. It is a high quality piece that allows easy attachment/detachment of my iPhone and holds firmly to the vent.
