Realistic Price of a Used 991 C4S
Hey guys,
So my son ordered an F80 M3. Loaded, he did the ceramics, the car stickers at 83k.
He really wants a C4S, but cant really afford what these cars are listed at.
I've been reading that guys are getting near 12% off on 991 turbos that are sitting on lots.
Is the same the case for the C4S?
I think he can reach for 95kish.
Maybe slightly used? 2k miles?
Thanks for the help!

More than likely you are seeing the higher discounts on loaded up cars with higher msrp's. The most desirable 14 inventory has been picked over as it's mid December. A decent build on a 2014 c4s with PDk, sports chrono, sunroof, Bose, 14 way seats w a standard interior is gonna be in the 125 neighborhood. Even with 12% off he will be at 110k. I'm sure he could find a 13 with 10k or under for the 95k if he looks around but it's ambitious. Most 2013's are still above 105k. I also am not a big fan of buying the cheapest car listed which is where 95k range will land you.

You can probably get pretty close to that 95K for a used 2014 and well below that for a 2013. It will take some serious searching but its possible. Look at ebay and auto trader to start with. As far as new goes, don't think that a certain percentage is an absolute. I would shoot for 20K off but it will be hard to find a new one exactly as you want. This is certainly a good time to look and dealers in colder climates will logically be more likely to cut a really good deal.

I think I paid too much for mine

Mileage was 10K. I wouldn't say you paid too much - if it was worth it to you at the time then it was a good purchase. There are so many variables to take into account that just comparing prices won't be terribly helpful.

If he was going to get an m3 why not look at a C2S? They can be had for less than 90k. But yes you should be able to find a C4S for under 100k. Take the time to look at all the options out there and you can definitely negotiate a good price. I would typically say any C2S with an msrp over 125k will have all the options you want (130k msrp for a C4S). Good luck!
