Billyii is on a distinguished road
A big thanks to all of you for your very helpful information. I am now convinced that reservations are probably the only way we will be able to take the tour. We will try to see the Porsche and Mercedes museums on separate days. A side note-I read that the 1886 (first one) Mercedes auto is in another German museum. I forgot which museum, so I will have to go back to my tour book where I read this. Thanks 2020 for the video. It is very interesting and informative. I have watched about one-half of it and plan to watch the rest this afternoon.

There is another transportation related museum (Auto & Teknik) in Sinsheim which is about an hour or so drive North and West of Stuttgart. Has a huge auto component including large F1 collection plus planes (both the Concorde and TU 144 (Concordski) on display that you can enter) and also extremely good WW II display. Perhaps there?
