It's all by design. They will all be back. Just different network.

Agree. I always found Clarkson a little too full of himself anyway. I actually applaud the BBC for being accountable and following through on the warnings they gave him and disspelling the notion that there are two societial standards, one for everyday people and a much lower one for celebrities. Had they not sacked him, Clarkson's behavior would only have gotten worse.

For me Top Gear became boringly predictable about 3 years ago. The gags were recycled, canned tag lines and facial expressions showed up like commuter trains and they pretty much ran out of clever guests to provide relief. Clarkson was the best they had and even he looked bored most of the time. It looked good only by comparison to weak imitators. If its cars that interest far better road tests can be found on the web these days.

Edd, for example makes one-off wacky automotive contraptions in his free time. He would be great for those challenges when they have to build stuff.
Mike Brewer seems to have a real passion for cars too. I happen to like his extroverted/friendly personality.
I watch every episode of Wheeler Dealers. I might watch Top Gear only once in awhile now because it's mostly ridiculous the past few years. Seems less about the cars and more about the host's antics. Clarkson and Hammond seem to be trying too hard to fit their caricatures. May seems to be authentic, but he's quite boring on his own.
