Will the 991.1 be a $40,000 car in 2017?

would you really want the cheapest 991 on the market? you wouldnt expect it to be in the best condition, probably high miles, no service history, over due for a service, and in need of new tires.

I've been looking at purchasing a ~2013 991 in the next few years for a daily driver and from my research this is roughly what you'll pay for a well equipped car.

Depreciation is a fact of life. Decided a year ago to see what the fuss was all about and used some of my kids' inheritance to buy a perfect and well optioned 2013 CPO'd C4 with 8200 miles. The fuss is well deserved. It gives me big grins every day. Best decision ever and at 70 I hope to outlive the warranty!

/\ I agree 100% with you, I can justify the depreciation of roughly $500 per month being four years old with hopefully a CPO warranty 6 years/100k miles.

And I agree that MT cars should hold their value better than PDK cars as enthusiasts are generally more willing to pay above general market prices for their ideal configuration.
My enthusiasts options include:
7MT
PDCC
SPASM
Sport Chrono
Sports Exhaust
