Cheapest set of track wheels in "no crack" quality?
Just wondered what the least expensive set is out there that holds up under "Spirited" driving. Not concerned about bling factor. Just bought a 991 C4S

Shawn,
Here is my set up on my 4S for track days:
19x8 5-130 +45 INNSBRUCK (RF) Black with 245/35R19 89Y Proxes R888
19x11 5-130 +36 INNSBRUCK (RF) Black with 305/30R19RF 102Y Proxes R888
I have done a lot of track days (10 sessions in 1.5 years so far) without any damage to the wheels (and I abuse them!!).
I also recommend replacing your pads with Pagid RS29 Yellow pads and replacing the brake fluid with Castrol SRF.

The whee/tire set up cost is approximately $3400...tires are still holding up after 10 sessions. Hot pressure needs to be 37-40 psig.

Thanks, Prob more in my budget. With no insurance coverage anymore once your wheels hit the track I will be backing down my ***** to the wall style of driving at the track to a more just out to have fun mode. Guys be sure to check your policies if you track your car. Most do not cover the track at all anymore even if its not a timed event. Daily coverage from track insurance companies are around $600 per day plus track fees. Single day events are up to 1000 per day if you want coverage now.
Do not ask you insurance company if they allow DE events or they will drop you just for asking. Instead, ask them for a copy of their exclusions for coverage.

that's why I have a dedicated race car and don't track my 991. I do have a ton of money in the 370Z over the years, but its all money that has been spent and is gone, so if I wreck it really bad, I just have to find a new hobby.
