991.2 Carrera vs Carrera 4 (both Non-S)
#16
Not sure about elsewhere, but in Canada, S is 16k over the base and 4 is 8k over the base. I was also deciding between a C2 and C4, but after going to Porsche Driving experience event, I chose the C2. IMO, either way will be a good choice; just purely personal preferences.

Why not snow tires and C4?? Then you are safe and having fun at the same time. if you lease the car for 36 months, the $8,000 option cost (in Canada) you $3,200 out of pocket or about $90.00/month (one night out a month at a decent restaurant).

Love the wide a$$ in the C4(S). 44mm difference with the C2(S). The wider hips look wonderful and to the trained eye, there is no doubt a difference. I love my new C4S. Was a great decision for me.

Hi live in Montreal, Canada. Temperature are very cold during the winter and lots of snow. I run Pirelli winter tire.
With a C2, you can not climb steep city street covered in ice/snow that are not plowed, with a C4, not a problem.
Last week, we had a big snow storm, it was a nightmare to drive on the highway with 4-6 inches of heavy snow. Then again, we have very cold weather and snow .. much worst than the typical northern US or European climates.
If ANY one ever tell you there is no difference between a C2 and C4, direct them to the nearest hospital for a complete check up
I guess if you live south of NYC with winter tires, a C2 will do just fine I agree.

You're right, they changed it up for the 991 generation. Carrera and Carrera S are narrow 1808mm, Carrera 4/4S/GTS/GT3 are medium width 1852mm, Turbo/Turbo S/GT3RS the widest at 1880mm.

Get the C4. When you look at the Porsche lineup (not including the cab/coupe variants), the high performance models are AWD (Turbo/S) only. In addition, where I live, the most popular model, seems to be the C4S. While I live in the snow belt, few of those cars are ever seen on the road in winter, so snow isn't the reason.
